DNA tests have identified the remains of a body found in Pennsylvania as Laura Garza, a 25-year-old woman who went missing in New York on December 3, 2008.


Garza was last seen leaving a Manhattan nightclub with Michael Mele, a man now known to be a registered sex offender.

Mele was investigated in Garza’s disappearance but never charged. Now it appears new DNA evidence links him to Garza’s body. (See news story below.)

Garza’s skeleton was found by a “youngster” with a group of all-terrain vehicle riders on April 11th in Mount Cobb, Pa.
