Funke, ex-wife of afro-beat maestro, Femi Kuti was yesterday arrested by the operatives of the Economic and Financial crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged N50 million fraud.

Daily Sun gathered that Funke was picked up at about 1:00pm in Ilupeju area of Lagos after failing to honour the invitation of the commission since April 17, 2010.

Funke who worked with the National Sports Lottery (NSL) in Lagos was arrested in connection with N50 million scam in which a lottery winner was allegedly denied his winning prize, by citing frivolous excuses.

Daily Sun gathered that one Alhaji Tunde Ayinde Balogun had emerged winner of the N50 million jackport in the lottery operated by the NSL. Rather than being paid, he was being tossed around.

Balogun’s persistence to claim her prize yielded no results as Funke who is the Group Head, Corporate Services, was alleged to have played a fast one on Balogun by denying him his winning.
Frustrated by the development, Balogun wrote a petition to the EFCC consequent upon which an investigation was launched into the allegation and found Balogun’s claims were found to be true.
The EFCC thereafter invited Funke to come and answer some of the allegations but she failed to show up.

Spokesman of the EFCC, Mr. Femi Babafemi confirmed the arrest to Daily Sun in Abuja. He disclosed that Funke had been brought to Abuja for interrogations.
