Janet Jackson Splits From Wissam Al Mana, Her Qatari Tycoon Husband - Celebrities - Ifeyinka
by Usman Adewale
Janet Jackson has split from her multi-millionaire husband just months after giving birth to her first child at the age of 50.
The pop-star sister of the late Michael Jackson wed Qatari businessman Wissam Al Mana in 2012 and their son, Eissa, was born on January 3.
Her recent retreat from the limelight – and the postponement of her Unbreakable world tour last year involving 36 gruelling stadium shows – had been put down to contentment with her marriage.
But last night, a close friend of Ms Jackson told The Mail on Sunday: ‘Sadly, Janet and Wissam have decided that it wasn’t working and to go their separate ways.
‘They’re both busy people but determined to be good parents, even if they’re apart. It’s amicable and Eissa will stay with his mother, who is basing herself in London.’
When the couple married, there was much speculation, never confirmed, that Ms Jackson had converted to Islam, fuelled by her appearance in a head scarf.

Osinbajo, Malami, Magu, DSS Move To Save Anti-graft War - Politics - Ifeyinka
by Usman Adewale
The Federal Government has gone back to the drawing board to re-strategize on its prosecution of corruption-related cases.
This followed its recent losses, one after the other, of four high profile corruption-related cases in court.
First was the unfreezing, on the order of a Federal High Court, Lagos, of the account of Lagos lawyer Mike Ozekhome (SAN), which is said to hold a sum of N75million professional fee paid to him by Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had alleged that the money was proceeds of corruption.
Next was the discharge and acquittal of Justice Adeniyi Ademola and his wife of charges of corruption and possession of firearms filed against them.
The initial forfeiture of a sum of $5m found in an account of former First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan was similarly reversed on the order of another court, while the Minister of Niger Delta in the Jonathan administration, Elder Godsday Orubebe was also discharged and acquitted after Abubakar Malami, the Attorney General of the federation, told the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) that the case filed against the former minister did not exist.

Lagos Task Force Burns Homes Of Otodo Gbame Residents, Chase Them Into Lagoon - Politics - Ifeyinka
by Usman Adewale
'Otodo Gbame residents watch their homes being lit on FIRE by Lagos State Task Force this morning. Residents chased into Lagoon, stranded in boats between Orange Island and a police boat blockade. Nowhere to go and funny enough, Gov Ambode got most of his votes here in 2015.
Gov Ambode cannot be celebrating Lagos at 50 while it's poor citizens are treated this way. Lagos at 50 party for the rich, death and displacement for the poor. Keep creating IDP camps daily'
