Lynn Redgrave has died at age 67

Monday, May 3, 2010

Lynn Redgrave
Lynn Redgrave, an introspective and independent player in her family's acting dynasty who became a 1960s sensation as the freethinking title character of "Georgy Girl" and later dramatized her troubled past in such one-woman stage performances "Shakespeare for My Father" and "Nightingale," has died. She was 67.

Her publicist Rick Miramontez, speaking on behalf of her children, said Redgrave died peacefully Sunday night at her home in Connecticut. Children Ben, Pema and Annabel were with her.

"Our beloved mother Lynn Rachel passed away peacefully after a seven year journey with breast cancer," they said in a statement Monday. "She lived, loved and worked harder than ever before. The endless memories she created as a mother, grandmother, writer, actor and friend will sustain us for the rest of our lives. Our entire family asks for privacy through this difficult time."

Her death comes a year after her niece Natasha Richardson died from head injuries sustained in a skiing accident and just a month after the death of her older brother, Corin Redgrave.

The youngest child of Michael Redgrave and Rachel Kempson, Lynn Redgrave never quite managed the acclaim — or notoriety — of elder sibling Vanessa Redgrave, but received Oscar nominations for "Georgy Girl" and "Gods and Monsters," and Tony nominations for "Mrs. Warren's Profession," "Shakespeare for My Father" and "The Constant Wife." In recent years, she also made appearances in the television shows "Ugly Betty," "Law & Order" and "Desperate Housewives."

"Vanessa was the one expected to be the great actress," Lynn Redgrave told The Associated Press in 1999. "It was always, 'Corin's the brain, Vanessa the shining star, oh, and then there's Lynn.'"

In the theater, Redgrave, with her striking dark red hair, often displayed a sunny, sweet and open personality, much like her ebullient offstage personality. It worked well in such shows as "Black Comedy," her Broadway debut in 1972 and again two years later in "My Fat Friend," a comedy about an overweight young woman who sheds pounds to find romance.

Tall and blue-eyed like her sister, she was as open about her personal life as Vanessa has been about politics. In plays and in interviews, Lynn Redgrave confided about her family, her marriage and her health. She acknowledged that she suffered from bulimia and served as a spokeswoman for Weight Watchers. With daughter Annabel Clark, she released a 2004 book about her fight with cancer, "Journal: A Mother and Daughter's Recovery From Breast Cancer."

Halle Berry sent Gabriel packing Months Ago

Halle Berry

Make no bones about it. Halle Berry didn't get dumped by Gabriel Aubry. Their split happened several months ago – and it was the actress who initiated it, according to a source.

"She kicked him out months ago because he wasn't able to pull his weight in the relationship and she wanted to move on," a source close to Berry and Aubry tells PEOPLE.

"They’re very amicable in healthy ways because of their child," adds the source referring to the couple's 2-year-old daughter Nahla. "Her main concern is for the health and happiness of her daughter."

Gabriel Aubry: My split up with Halle Berry is painful.

Gabriel Aubry and Halle Berry
Although Gabriel Aubry and Halle Berry have split up, the model says he has nothing but love and respect for the actress, with whom he has a 2-year-old daughter.

“While I will not comment on all of the wild inaccuracies being speculated about in the media, I am sad to say that Halle and I have decided together to separate at this time," Aubry, a model, confirmed Friday in a statement to Access Hollywood released through his agency, Wilhelmina Models.

Reports of the couple's break up first began circulating widely on Friday. Berry’s rep couldn’t be reached for comment.

Aubry says of his Oscar winning ex, "She is, and will forever be, one of the most special and beautiful people that I have ever known, and I am certain that we will continue to have only love and respect for one another."

Magnus grew up in the town of Barnstable, Massachusetts, and is a 2008 graduate of Barnstable High School in Hyannis, Massachusetts. Her first name means "God is Gracious" in Irish Gaelic. Siobhan first started singing in a fourth grade choral concert when she sang "Tomorrow" from the play Annie.

American Idol
Magnus auditioned for American Idol in the summer of 2009 in Boston, and was one of two Massachusetts contestants to make the semi-finals of the show. Siobhan has exposed a lot of her vocal abilities on Idol, often displaying very high notes and a wide vocal range. She is renowned for her unique take on classic songs, such as "Think" by Aretha Franklin and "Paint It Black" by The Rolling Stones. Some of her rock singing techniques have been met with critique by Simon Cowell. On April 20, Magnus sang the song "When You Believe", a duet between Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston, but the judges criticized her fashion sense and general lack of direction. On the top 6 night, when she sang "Any Man of Mine", judge Kara DioGuardi told her that "she was back!" Despite praise from the judges for her performance, Magnus was eliminated the next day.

On the final ten show, it was revealed that she would be a participant in the summer tour.
Magnus is currently the only contestant from the state of Massachusetts to become a finalist in American Idol history.

Like many contestants before her, Siobhan Magnus was never reported to be in the Bottom 3 until the night of her elimination.

Alejandra Campoverdi's, New White House Aide, Pictures.

Alejandra “Ali” Campoverdi, who posed in photos for Maxim and who once appeared on a reality TV dating show, is now an assistant to a senior staffer at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

So how’d she make the move from Maxim to the corridors of power? Campoverdi has a graduate degree from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government.

A former actress, Campoverdi also appeared in the Keanu Reeves movie Constantine and Leonardo DiCaprio’s The Aviator. She was a contestant on The Bachelor-style TV show For Love Or Money, which ran on NBC in 2004. She didn’t land the guy on that show, but she’s had better luck in her real-life romance.

Alejandra Campoverdi's boyfriend is reported to be Obama’s chief speechwriter Jon Favreau, who recently landed in hot water when a photo of him groping a Hillary Clinton cutout was posted online.

Raychel Coudriet Photos – Pictures (Tiger Woods Mistress)

Raychel Coudriet is not a well known person, she is actually Tiger Woods’ neighbors daughter. Here are some Raychel Coudriet photos pictures I was able to find:

Singer Egbuna Nneka

Nneka Egbuna

Nneka Egbuna gained her first public attention as a singer in 2004, in far away Germany. It was while performing at an opening act for reggae star, Sean Paul, at Hamburg Stadpark. Her first album, Victim of Truth, was released in Germany, England, France, Netherlands, Nigeria and Japan in 2003.

Nneka spoke with Daily Sun recently at Ikoyi, Lagos, on her passion for the oppressed Niger Delta, growing up in Warri and Germany and singing at an early age. Excerpts:

“My name is Nneka Egbuna. I am from Amawbia in Anambra State but was born and grew up in Warri, Delta State. I am half German, and half Nigerian. I have been into music since I was young, but professionally for the past six years. I have released four albums. The first album was released in 2003 called Victim of Truth. The second was released in 2005 called No Longer at Ease and the third album was in 2009 called Thro and Fro. The last album I just released in America is called Concrete Jungle.”

Growing up
“There are different challenges you have in growing up especially in a place like Warri. Warri is very harsh, but at the same time it inspired me. It inspired my music, my point of view. Growing up in Nigeria is an advantage to me as an artiste. You know when you are growing with beatings and floggings, you will be wondering why. But at a certain age in life, you will appreciate those beatings because they would have put you to shape.”

Why Concrete Jungle?

“It is the first time I am taking my music to America. I released that album specifically for the kids. I decided to re-introduce Africa to America. Americans to see Africa in a new perspective because most of the times, they have these negative way like HIV/AIDS, poverty, operation, corruption. I decided to use that music to re-introduce Africa in a positive way.”

Result of the message

“The message did get to them because I noticed that people became very positive especially to Nigerians in America. The music was not only to entertain them but also to educate them and change their views. They look out for the music especially when I talk about political issue and change in Nigeria.”

Passion into music
“My life in generally, growing up in Warri, being who I am, travelling round the world, having the opportunity to go to Germany to release my first album. The encounter I had with different people. I did not have the opportunity to travel round the world because my parents are not that rich. I have been able to travel widely because I am doing music.”

Sponsors
“I pay the band. I am tied to a record company like someone working for an oil company. So I am a product of a big record company called Fony in America and Fony BMG in Germany, they are in collaboration. I am basically their artiste. They give the money and during my performances, I recoup that money.”

Challenges
“If you love what you are doing, people will not understand that you are emotional about it. Some people might think that because you are an artiste, you have to be rational, you are a businessperson, and you want to earn money and all that. It is not about money alone, entertainment alone. In my own case it is about the message, the politics and competence. The effort is the challenge to prove to people that you do not have to be another person to be accepted in this world.”

Marriage
“I am not married and I am not in any relationship.”

Why?

“I do not know. Maybe I am so busy. But then one has to be careful you would not know who is real and who is coming because you are a television personality. I am into music for a reason. Music is like a therapy.

Music is like being in love. I am into Afro beat, African–Afro, hip pop, souls. I tried to use my traditional language to sing on the album. “I mix my languages, Ibo some use of English. I use a lot of Ibo, pigeon and Urhobo because speak Urhobo better than Ibo.”

Damian Marley

“I am planning a tour with Damian Marley, the late Bob Marley’s son. He likes my stuff in America. We are touring America, representing distant relativity which shows that Black people are all connected all over the world and that we all come from Africa.”

Highpoint in life

“When people understand that there is nothing good about deceptive in life. The good life is about accepting and respecting one another truly from one’s heart. I appreciate that.”

Low point

“My low points are when I am misunderstood. Somebody into music can be very emotional. When you are emotional about many things.”

Niger Delta
“I want the government and the oil companies to start employing Nigerians. Stop using expatriates and paying them heavily while Nigerians earn peanuts. The next is to be a brother’s keeper. There is a lot of tribalism going on. If we are together, there is no way someone can come from outside and intimidate and oppress us.

If we see a white man, we kneel down and greet and think that he is bigger than us. It is no more about when the white man came to oppress us. It is high time we understand that we have all that we need to get there. We have all it takes to build this country. We have the intelligence, resources, the experience and awareness to move higher than where we are today.”

German experience
“Education is free in Germany. Getting to know a different culture as an adult was an experience. I travelled to Germany when I was 20 years and lived there for five years.”

Cooking
“I can cook African foods like Banga, Egusi owho soup and Edikan Ikang. I worked in a buka .My step-mother had a buka then and I used to assist her a lot.”

Fond memories
“Killing the Christmas goat. The funny part of it is that you develop a relationship with the goat by feeding.”

Gabriel Aubry, Canadian model, dumps Halle Berry

Canadian model Gabriel Aubry, 34 has called it quits with actress Halle Berry, 43. A source says their nine-year age difference was the cause of the split! But Halle is keeping her head high. We saw her last night at Cipriani, looking gorgeous, happy and ready to take on the world.

The twice-divorced actress and the model have a daughter, Nahla Ariela, 2. A source close to the couple says that Gabriel initiated the split months ago after he started noticing and being attracted to other women.

“Gabriel just felt it wasn’t working anymore. When they were first together the 9-year age difference between them didn’t phase him, she was the most beautiful woman he had ever dated and he was totally in love,” a source told Radar Online.

“Gabriel is a really nice, decent guy and he would never cheat on her, but I suspect that he had become attracted to someone and that he felt he needed to break it off with Halle before anything developed any further.”

Gabriel and Halle split quietly months ago and have already negotiated custody of Nahla and the split of their property. Gabriel isn’t asking for any money from Halle. He may not make as much as the multi-million actress but he still makes a decent income from his modeling campaigns.

Drake - Find Your Love Produced By Kanye West

Wednesday, April 28, 2010

The second single off Drake’s Thank Me Later album is entitled Find Your Love produced by Kanye West drops today.

Bret Michaels has been diagnosed with another medical malady

An already ailing Bret Michaels has been diagnosed with another medical malady. After suffering a brain hemorrhage last week, the audacious 47-year-old glam-rock reality TV star has developed a side effect that causes seizures, according to a statement posted Tuesday on the former Poison frontman's website.

The condition, called hyponatremia, stems from a lack of sodium. The statement did not indicate if Michaels had actually suffered any seizures.

Michaels was conscious and in critical but stable condition in the intensive care unit of an undisclosed hospital.

The statement said he was remaining positive and responding well to tests and treatments.

"Even though today was a minor setback, doctors remain hopeful for a full recovery and plan to release more specific information next Monday," it said.

Michaels, a contestant on "The Celebrity Apprentice," suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage, which causes bleeding in the fluid-filled spaces around the base of the brain. He was rushed to the hospital on Friday with a severe headache.

"Doctors state Michaels is very lucky as his condition could have been fatal," according to the statement, which was also provided by Michaels' New York-based publicist Joann Mignano.

"With further testing and rehabilitation, they are hopeful that Bret will gradually improve as the blood surrounding the brain dissolves and is reabsorbed into his system, which can be a very painful recovery and take several weeks to months," the statement said.

Michaels was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at age 6. He had an emergency appendectomy April 12 after complaining of stomach pains before he was scheduled to perform in San Antonio.

A statement posted on his website after the surgery said it had "taken its toll," but doctors expected him to make a full recovery.

On Donald Trump's competitive reality show, "The Celebrity Apprentice," Michaels has served as one of the season's most outspoken celebrities and has so far avoided being fired in the boardroom.

Before joining the show, Michaels starred in VH1's lusty reality dating series "Rock of Love" for three seasons.

Poor Performance: Fans walk out on Whitney Houston

Whitney Houston is just having a very rough time with this comeback of hers. Once the reigning queen of R&B and Pop music, Houston’s crack addiction and abusive relationship with ex-husband Bobby Brown (who was rumored to be dead yesterday via another Twitter scam), have damaged her so much she can only offer a hot mess for her fans during this “Nothing But Love” comeback tour.

She was recently in the hospital due to a respiratory infection which had her cancel a couple of shows. We were hoping she had fully recovered enough to give her fans a strong performance but it sounds like that wish is most likely not going to come true.

We’ve shown you clips of Whitney’s horrific comeback live shows but we gave her a little leeway since she was just getting back into the saddle. However, it’s been a couple of months and she seems to be getting worse. Her excuse for her latest train wreck at London’s O2 Arena on Saturday? Air conditioning.

According to dimewars.com, fans were fed up with Houston’s inability to hit high notes in her popular songs such as “I Will Always Love You,” and walked out in masses. That has got to hurt for a pop star who was once on top! They report comments from the former diva such as,

“She don’t want to come, my soprano friend [...] Sometimes the old girl sings, but not tonight. I want to do it, but she doesn’t want to. … She’s getting a little… temperamental, even.”
She went on to call the air conditioning “air-con” and claimed that she could “feel it — it takes away my soprano.” Oh, Whitney. Doesn’t she know that she can’t afford to make excuses like that for such a highly anticipated comeback tour? We don’t know about everyone else, but a comeback tour implies hard work and an artist giving it their all no matter what the technical difficulties their shows may have.

Tara Conner: I abused drugs, alcohol and was a cutter'

Miss USA 2006 Tara Conner

By Samantha Chang

Former Miss USA Tara Conner appears on the outside to have a picture-perfect life, but her beauty and fame masked a sad existence marred by self-abuse, drug addiction and alcoholism.
Eight months after winning the Miss USA title in 2006, Conner almost lost her crown when she tested positive for cocaine. Instead of firing her, pageant owner Donald Trump gave her a second chance and sent her to drug rehab.

PARENTS' DIVORCE WAS TRIGGER
Conner, 24, has been clean and sober ever since, but spoke out about her years of underage drinking, self-inflicted injuries (cutting) and rape at the age of 14.
Tara's rapid decline into drug addiction began at 14, when her parents divorced and her grandfather died.
"I feel like I was crying out for help, but no one could hear me because everyone was so concerned with their own life," Conner said on the Oprah show April 28.
Tara began doing drugs to mask the pain and loneliness she felt. "I started using when I was 14 years old," she recalls. "I had my first drink when I was 14."

'I SOMETIMES TOOK 30 PAINKILLERS A DAY'
She adds: "It wasn't me moving to New York and becoming Miss USA that put all this pressure on me. It wasn't that at all. I had the disease of alcoholism from the get-go."
Soon, Conner moved on to potent prescription painkillers like Vicodin. "I started taking Percocet, Xanax, Valium, Klonopin, morphine pills, methadone [and] OxyContin," she recounts. "It consumed every minute of my day. There would be times where I could do 30 pain pills in a day."

Tara says lying and manipulating became a way of life. After a while, she told so many lies and did so many drugs that she says she didn't know who she was anymore.
Shockingly, Conner was doing drugs the entire time she competed in pageants — even while competing on Miss USA.
"I was doing pain pills the entire time," she reveals. When officials announced she was the winner, Tara was numb from the Xanax she had taken earlier that day.

'I WAS NEVER ENOUGH FOR ME'
"Everyone thought I was professional and this sweet girl who showed up for what I needed to show up for," she says. "Everyone thinks the pageant girls are Polly Purebred perfect. You can't make a mistake, but on the inside, I felt dirty. I felt ashamed. I felt less than, not enough. I was never enough for me."
When she was finally caught in her web of lies eight months into her Miss USA reign, Conner was relieved. "Part of me was like, 'Wow, all of my skeletons are out there,'" she says. "There's a freedom that comes with that."
Tara, who has been sober for over three years now, is happy with how her life is unfolding. "Every day I learn something new about myself," she says. "I'm allowing myself to feel. I'm allowing myself to love. I'm allowing myself to feel pain where I wouldn't before."

Sandra Bullock Adopted baby's picture and her interview.

Sandra Bullock, 45 reveals her “joyful secret” to People magazine today and it’s quite a shock! In January, Sandra adopted a baby boy named Louis, named after Louis Armstrong.

Sandra adopted Louis Bardo Bullock, a now 3½-month-old boy who was born in New Orleans, with her husband Jesse James, 41, in January. People magazine reveals they “began the adoption process four years ago and brought Louis home in January, but decided to keep the news to themselves until after the Oscars. Their close friends and family – including James’s children Sunny, 6, Jesse Jr., 12, and Chandler, 15 – were essential in keeping the adoption a secret.”

Jesse’s daughter Sunny gave Sandra the idea to adopt: “One day Sunny proclaimed to me that we shouldn’t have another baby, that we should adopt … because there are so many little babies that have no home, and we can share our things with them.”

Why she chose to adopt a baby from New Orleans: “New Orleans for both of us was a place that we loved, a place that had a lot of history for the both of us and a place I couldn’t let go of.”

What it was like to meet baby Louis for the first time: “It was like the whole outside world just got quiet. He was so small, so still … All I said when I met him was, ‘Oh, there you are.’ It was like he had always been a part of our lives.”

How Sandra picked his name: “It was one of the first names that came to mind. Louis Armstrong’s song ‘What A Wonderful World’ kept playing in my head when I looked at him, so Louis just seemed to stick.”

On how difficult it was to keep the adoption a secret: “I was being followed every day during awards season, so anything we did with Louis had to be pre-planned … like a CIA mission.”

She had no idea about Jesse’s infidelity: “I had no idea about anything until that day when I got the call. All I remember is thinking ‘I need to get Louis out of her before the vultures descend.’”

Sandra talks about filing for divorce: “I have filed for divorce. I don’t know what else to say. I’m sad and I am scared.”

Sandra wants to remain in Jesse’s children’s lives: “Jesse and I both know these kids are all that matter. In the healthiest way, we are going to be co-parenting. I know my role is not one that exists on paper, but Louis is their brother.”

The most surprising thing about being a new mommy: “I really only need three hours of sleep. I have learned that a little person screaming at the top of his lungs can mean six things: ‘I am hungry, I am wet, I am tired, I am uncomfortable, I am in pain, or I have gas.’ And I will figure out which one it is and fix it.”

What she has learned about herself: “To say I am changed is an understatement. But that might not be a bad thing. I have learned a lot about what I am and what I am not. But the most important thing to me was to protect and know my truth.”
