Sherri Shepherd was born in Chicago, Illinois on April 22, 1967. Sherri Shepherd is a co-host The View on ABC daytime talk show; She is also the star and executive producer her new Lifetime series, SHERRI. The Grand Central Publishing launched Sherri’s mirthful autobiography, “Permission Slips: Every Woman’s Guide to Giving Herself a Break (Hachette Book Group) in October, 2009.



Sherri Shepherd made her Hollywood’s breakthrough as a stand-up comedienne and actress. She won the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Talk Show Host on The View in 2009, and she has been nominated for Outstanding Cast in a Motion Picture, Precious, for Screen Actors Guild Awards 2010.


Shepherd never fails to delight audiences with her magnetic personality and hilarious sense of humor. She have been able to keep up with the ever changing dynamics of showbiz trends.


In Permission Slips, Sherri’s published book, she comically explains how she manages to juggle her many roles-professional with her family roles of wife, mother, daughter, and friend. Permission Slips covers topics such as "Marriage, the Hard Way," "All the Things I Don't Know,” ”It's Jesus or Jail,” and "Children: The Gift You Can't Give Back,"


Sherri had a son, Jeffrey Charles, who born April 22, 2005. Jeffery Charles is the product of comedian Jeff Tarpley and comedienne Sherri Shepherd’s marriage. Jeff Tarpley and Sherri Shepherd’s divorced in 2006 after Sherri discovered that Jeff was having an affair. The divorce inspired Ms. Shepherd Lifetime series, SHERRI.


The main theme of the book Permission Slips is that Woman are survivors. Sherri Shepherd has always demonstrated the survival traits inside of her. She has always used stumbling stones as stepping stones; she redirects disappointment to blessings.


She said, “As long as you cab get up and put two legs in front of the other, you will make it through.”

I love Sherri Shephard. She also play a role in the sitcom "30 Rock".
